The KBA COMPACTA C 215 is a high-performance heatset web offset printing press designed for commercial printing applications. This robust machine combines precision engineering with advanced automation features to deliver exceptional print quality at speeds up to 50,000 revolutions per hour. Ideal for producing magazines, catalogs, brochures, and direct mail, the COMPACTA C 215 offers versatility with its 5 printing units, fully automatic plate changing capabilities, and comprehensive finishing options. The press incorporates KBA`s Minigap Technology for reduced waste and improved efficiency, along with state-of-the-art color control systems for consistent, high-quality output.

Dimensions and Specifications : The COMPACTA C 215 features a maximum cut-off length of 620 mm with a web width range from 420 mm to 1000 mm. The maximum printing area measures 614 x 995 mm, accommodating paper grammage from 30 to 130 g/m². Operating at speeds up to 50,000 RPM (revolutions per hour) with left-to-right web direction, the press includes a comprehensive control system with KBA Drivetronic and Opera software.
Paper Handling : The press is equipped with a KBA pastostar RC reelstand supporting maximum reel diameter of 1270 mm and featuring Patros auto reel loading. The KBA EZW 1000 infeed system includes E&L web guidance, with additional web guides throughout the press. The machine handles continuous web processing through a VITS OTS Sirius hot air dryer with integrated afterburner, KBA web catcher, and KWS 3 roll chill unit.
Printing Unit : The press features 5 KBA C 215 printing units with direct drive technology and Minigap Technology for reduced waste. Units 1 and 2 offer fully automatic plate changing with flying plate change capability, while units 3-5 feature semi-automatic plate changing. Each unit includes Oxy-Dry Kombi blanket wash systems and automatic ink supply. The press is equipped with a 16-page pinless folder capable of A/3, A/4, double parallel, and DELTA production, along with an 8-page stacked folder for 2 x 8 page A/4 output.
Ink System : The COMPACTA C 215 features automatic ink supply systems across all five printing units, complemented by Technitrans Delta d 160W refrigeration/recirculation for dampening solution temperature control. The press includes Grafikontrol Densiweb for automatic closed-loop color control and two dedicated KBA color desks for precise ink management.
Plate Cylinder : The press offers advanced plate handling with fully automatic plate changing on units 1 and 2 (including flying plate change capability) and semi-automatic plate changing on units 3-5. The system includes a Berth AKA 200M plate bender, AKA 200S blanket bender, and dedicated plate punch for efficient plate preparation.
