Used Bobst-SP 1080 Die-Cutter
Suitable for processing thicker material and producing larger parts.

The term die-cutter is used for a press or machine that cuts material into a specified shape. They employ a fabrication process to convert stock material (paper, plastic, foam, foil or steel) by cutting it into custom shapes and designs. They have manufacturing applications in a variety of industries including packaging, die cutting paper, die cutting fabric, die cutting foam to name a few.
The exact mechanism varies according to the types, intended materials and complexity of the cutting required. For instance, in a flatbed die-cutter, the basic process includes a hydraulic press pushing sharp blades down into the material, with just enough pressure to cut it, but not the underlying sheet.
Depending on their varied mechanisms die-cutters, they are primarily of 3 types:
Flatbed Die-Cutter
They employ flatbed die cutting press and custom steel rule dies to convert the material into custom shapes and designs. They are suitable for processing thicker material, producing larger parts, and completing small orders or short production runs.
Rotary Die-Cutter
Rotary Die Cutter uses cylindrical dies affixed to a rotary press to convert flexible material. It is suitable for applications requiring high precision and accuracy designs.
Digital Die-Cutter
It converts the material without the use of dies. Instead, digital cutter employs computer-controlled lasers, blades and tool bits to cut material into a specific shape. It is suitable for low-shear material converting applications requiring fast lead times and low costs while maintaining high precision.
